Ronald E. (Ron) Harrison retired in 2004 as Senior Vice President, External Relations and Assistant to the Chairman, PepsiCo, Inc. He devoted more than 44 years to the PepsiCo, Inc. family of companies, starting as a New York City route salesman for Levin Pepsi Distributors in 1960. During those 44 years, he served in a variety of management positions, and as a corporate officer at PepsiCo and as a trustee of the PepsiCo Foundation during his last ten years. During his time with PepsiCo Harrison worked with a variety of the company’s holdings, which during that time included Pepsi-Cola, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, KFC, Quaker Oats, Tropicana, Gatorade, and Frito-Lay. PepsiCo spun-off its restaurant holdings in the late ‘90’s.
Some of Ron’s key roles at PepsiCo included: Director of Special Marketing for Pepsi in the Mid-West (66-68); Director, responsible for Pepsi’s sales training and manpower development-working with the companies Franchise operations in the development of their management systems(69-71); Area Vice President, responsible for all Pepsi product sales/distribution in New York City (74-78); Division Vice President, responsible for all Pepsi-Cola product sales/distribution in Pepsi’s company owned operations in New England, Pittsburgh, Milwaukee and Orlando (79-81); Vice President, responsible for all Community Affairs throughout the PepsiCo system (86-99); and as PepsiCo’s Senior Vice President responsible for Global Diversity and Inclusion (2000-2003).
Harrison served on a number of corporate advisory boards, including the National Urban League, the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation, The Hispanic Association for Corporate Responsibility, and the U.S. Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. He also served on the Board of Trustees at the College of New Rochelle (NY), and currently serves on the Industry Advisory Board for the University of New Hampshire’s William Rosenberg Center of Franchising. He is a past chairman of the International Franchise Association (IFA), and is Founding Chairman of the Diversity Institute of IFA.
Harrison and his wife Sharon reside in Burke, Virginia. They have 3 children and five grand-children.
